Editing the CCR

Hello blogggg! We are on the final, task editing the CCR’s. I’m still using wondershare filmora as it works best for me. I started by. Putting all the clips together and cutting out any parts that were messed up. I added in cheerful music in the background because this interview is more lighthearted and fun than the movie. Then I added in images for certain parts of the video.

When editing the second CCR, I started by putting all the clips together and deleting the ones I didn’t like and then putting transitions in between the clips when it went to the questions on the notepad. And then I added cheerful music in the background to make it lighthearted.

Production of CCR

Hey bloggg!! The CCR production for my first one I had a difficult time not laughing on camera!! It took lots of tries but we got it done haha. We filmed it on set and the wolf was the one asking all the questions. We filmed it on an iPhone the same one we used to film the movie. The Ring light stand wasn’t working so we had to set it up behind a stack of books that was holding the phone so it wouldn’t fall and it was a level with our eyes

I’m not sure why, but my blogger won’t let me add in a video to show you guys the bloopers but here’s a picture of me laughing when I was supposed to be saying my lines.

For my second CCR, I filmed it with just myself, and the questions were written on a notepad like I was getting interrogated and the notepad is the kind that psychologist use to write down information from their patients.

Final reflection on project

Hey bloggg! We have finally reached the end!! Wow that’s crazy to say, I wasn’t expecting it to be all over so soon. Well let’s get into it and reflect over the whole process.

At the very beginning we started by studying different film openings and ways they used sound and mis-en-scene. My favorite one was the scream opening. I learned a lot from studying these opening scenes and did my best to apply some of the strategies I noticed to mine.

In the production stage I faced lots of problems when starting my filming by having people cancel on me and trying to find new actors but luckily my family and neighbor were more than happy to help. They showed lots of support through the making of this project and I feel very grateful to have them. I learned a lot from this and how production works. I filmed everything on an iPhone because I don’t own a camera. I don’t know if production is much my thing but the feeling of watching your finished piece and finally finishing feels very rewarding. I learned a lot about time management while working on this project and how important it is. Editing was not to difficult as the app I used was not hard to navigate and I actually enjoyed the editing process and watching everything come together. I also learned so much from my AICE media class which helped so much in the production of this. Our teacher prepared us very well for this project.

I enjoyed the blog post, it helped me keep everything organized and if I needed anything or remember something I could always look back at them. It’s nice explaining everything in these blog post to prepare for everything and going over the work I did. It’s crazy that this is one of my last post and this project won’t be apart of my everyday life anymore. I loved the experience even though it was rough at times and I learned so much!

CCR production ideas

I have finished my scripts! Now it is time to talk about my ideas for filming my CCR.

I want to do something that relates to my film. I am going to do it in another almost interrogation room way but the wolf is the one asking me all the questions. I want it to be filmed very similar to my whole film but have cut ins of parts of the movie as we are speaking.

For my second CCR I want to do a interview with myself but it’s a shot of a notebook that says the questions and there’s a voice over of me asking them and then it switches the shot back to me and I’m answering the questions.

CCR question 4

This is the last question is how I integrated different technologies into my project

Script:

Question: What steps did you have to take before starting the filming of this video?

Answer: I just decided to use an iPhone because the quality on them are very good and I didn’t have access to any cameras. I used a ring light to stable the phone and so I could set it up in the places I wanted it to be. I tried to set up mics but I wasn’t able to because they weren’t working but it’s ok because the audio still sounds fine.

Response: The iPhone is amazing!

Question: What tools did you use?

Answer: I have actually never used a ring light before it was something my mom had suggested and I thought it was a good idea. It worked well as it was able to give good lighting and stabilize the phone. I could mount it in the middle and I could adjust the height to wherever I wanted. It was very helpful and I’m glad I used it.

CCR question 3

Hello! This next question is going to be about how my production skills have developed throughput the project. I will be answering it in my script right here!

Script:

Question: What was your prior experience with production before this project?

Answer: Honestly the reason I took this course was because I wanted to try something out of the ordinary for me as I have never learned or done anything in the media world. I have never done anything like this before, the closest I came to something like this was making iMovies with my cousins when we were 9! I think there was a lot I took away from this class and this project. If I’m being totally transparent here I don’t think it’s much my thing and I’m not totally attracted to production and especially after this project. I just don’t think it’s really for me. It involves a lot on relying on things to go as planned but they mostly never do and it gets really stressful. The project was a rollercoaster with people canceling on me or not finding time where all of us could film.

Response: Yeah I can totally see how it’s not for everyone.

Question: What is something that you have learned?

Answer: I definitely learned that casting the right people and making sure they can for sure come and having everything set up to get the filming done helps things go smoother instead of having it all be a mess. I learned that procrastination is a really dangerous thing and never a good idea and to try to always be ahead of things. I also learned a lot about the stress, time and energy that is put in to creating films.

Response: Yes, production is a roller coaster

Question: Any mew skills you developed?

Answer:  When I was finishing up my filming, I realized how important sound is and how it develops the whole film and nothing is really good without the use of audio. I also didn’t know much about editing in general so I have learned a lot about editing throughout this process. I think no matter what that is a good skill to have learned and that I can apply later on in life.

CCR question 2

I’m going to answer the question but inserting my script as I do to help myself in the long run. The question is how does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Script: Who was your main target audience?

Answer: Our target audience ranges from 16-50. A wide range in age as the genre isn’t specific to any age. Although teenagers are a big target as they love psychological concepts and creepy movies and something that will keep them hooked. We use mis- en-scene in the dark and creepy vibe to make it pull in the audience to keep them hooked from the start. The wolf sparks curiosity in the audience as it is not something that is technically real.

Respomse: Yes! that’s great.

Question: Where can we find this?

Answer: My project will be on YouTube and on one drive but of course that’s not the ideal place if you’re trying to get your film out. If it was real media text then I would consider streaming services like Amazon prime because lots of people use that platform to find movies. People love to scroll on Amazon and there can be a part that promotes the movie at the top so people will click in it.

Response: I can back that up, I always find myself scrolling on Amazon!

Question: Will social media help your marketing?

Answer: Yes 100% TikTok and instagram will help our marketing so much, that would be the main way we will market everything. We will use these platforms for our ads to reach our audience so they can click on links and view what it is about on these platforms. The whole world uses these apps so it’s our best way to reach as many people as possible.

Editing post #2

This post will be about my sound.

Once I put in the audio it pulled together my whole film. It makes it more creepy and eerie as that’s the sound I used. I put in a music build up on my production logo part and then I put in creepy eerie music I found on YouTube to my credit scene and then a slow eerie music playing lightly in the back during the rest of the film but during the flashback I put a dramatic music to further reinforce the drama. At the end when it shows the name of the film I put a dramatic sound that finishes it off. When the wolf is first shown on screen there is also a very light heartbeat playing.

I found all my sounds either on YouTube or on filmora app.
